African Leaders Call for Greater Investment and TB Vaccine Readiness as Late-Stage Trials Advance

Reports on an African Health and Finance Chairs meeting convened by the Global TB Caucus to strengthen political and financial preparedness for future TB vaccine introduction. Participants discussed sustainable financing, regulatory systems, manufacturing capacity, community engagement, equitable access, integrated health services and health-system resilience. The meeting also included updates on the M72/AS01E Phase III trial and highlighted the need for African countries to prepare for vaccine introduction before regulatory approval.
